Spring Interior Design Ideas

Spring offers an ideal time to spruce up your home and give it a lighter and more cheerful look for the season. If your home has been filled with heavier materials and darker tones all winter long, take advantage of this time to brighten it up. Whether you’re thinking of making big changes to your interior design or just a few simple ones, there are several ways to give your home a fresh, seasonal look. Consider one or more of the following interior design ideas for spring.

Vivid Tones

Pastels are among the most common color choices for spring, but that doesn’t mean you have to fill your home with muted tones. Vivid pastel tones in shades of blue, green, purple and other spring tones can add a touch of color that stands out in otherwise neutral rooms. You can paint an accent wall in one of these tones, or add these colors in other ways, such as with bright pastel throws, accent pillows, bedding or area rugs.

Wicker Decor and Furniture

Wicker chairs, side tables and decor items aren’t just for outside use. These materials can be used for decorating indoors in order to give your home an earthy quality that’s suitable for spring. You can add wicker accent items to your living room or bedroom, or choose an entire dining room set made of this material. Other wood materials to consider for spring decor include cane and bamboo.

Floral Patterns

Floral patterns for linens, tablecloths and other fabrics and materials are a perfect way to bring a spring-themed look to your home. You’ll find that there are several styles of floral patterns to choose from, including vintage, traditional designs and more modern floral designs. You can redo your walls with floral wallpaper for a more long-term design, or decorate your bedroom, living room and other areas of your home with floral pillows, throws and other items.

Light Wood Floors

If you’re considering making a bigger change to your home for interior design purposes this spring, keep in mind that light wood floors are a popular option. These floors can make rooms in your home seem brighter and cheerier for spring. They also reflect the growing trend in homes toward using natural elements for interior design. Wood floors are available in a wide range of colors, including lighter oak hues and white tones.
